How to take care of a stray cat?

Need help taking care of stray cat and please I need some tips very badly. Thank you. Kira K.

Put some food and water out. It also depends on what you plan on doing with it. If you want to keep it, then you should trap it, and take it to the vet. And if you have other cats already, dont let it around them until you have it combo tested for feline aids and leukemia, because your other cats could get it. If it is positive for either, then you might want to think about euthanizing it. But hopefully its all negative. And you should definitely get it spayed/neutered. At the clinic I work at, if someone finds a stray and traps it, we will sedate it will in the cage, combo test it, and then spay/neuter it all in one day, then its done. Also, vaccines, of course.

Caring for a stray cat, that may be pregnant?

Yesterday, this stray cat came up my driveway. I took her in my house and I've been caring for her. She's seriously skinny, and she eats 2+ cans of cat food a day. I already have a cat and I am keeping them seperated. I put a ad in the paper today hoping someone would claim her. But here's the weird thing...
Her stomach seems to be round, but her hips are extremely thin. I can't tell if she's pregnant because I've never had a pregnant cat. If no one claims her, of course I'll keep her and I'll be taking her to the vets. In the meantime, is there any way I could tell myself if she is pregnant?

Unless you actually feel the kittens moving around, it's hard to tell. She could have a tremendous case of worms. Keep her separated from the other cat until you get her checked over -- she could have feline AIDS or leukemia, distemper, or any of a number of communicable diseases. Otherwise, it sounds as if you're doing fine with her. Vet soooon.
