Problems with keeping our pet dog in our flat - Can anyone help?

We have been told we cannot keep our dog because we live in a flat with a lift. However others are being allowed to keep their pet dogs if they moved into their accommodation before this new ruling was brought in by the local Council (Glasgow City Council).

Does anyone know if this can be construed as discrimination under the European Human Rights Laws.

Is the ruling listed in your lease contract? Were you informed of it when you moved in? I assume the landlord knew you had a dog when you spoke about the flat...did he know or tell you about the ruling? Could these factors be used to request a waiver?

Pet Accommodations in the Netherlands?

Could anyone tell me of good pet facilities in Holland (specifically the Hague-area)? I will be moving there in time, but I'd like to know a good place in which I might leave my dog for safekeeping.

If there are any hotels that allow pets (and wouldn't mind too much if a jet-lagged dog began soiling their rooms), then that would be all the better!
