Hotels, for dogs only?

i was just wondering if the hotels for dogs are safe. has anyone here ever taken their pets to a dog daycare and how can i know that not just anyone can take my beloved labrador?

I actually worked at a Doggie Daycare/ Hotel for many years, and it is wonderful, as long as you go to the right place. We would care for the dog or cat for the day, or overnight. They could come while the "pet parent' worked, or shopped and we would let them play together in groups of dogs with similar temperments. The groups were always supervised by at least 1 person, and a limit on how many dogs in the group. If a dog couldnt do group due to temperment, health, or just the pet parents desires, we did individual play sessions with a person only. Certain breeds were not allowed in group, but everyone got to play somehow. Make sure the place you take your pet has a certain expectation of vaccines. We required Bordetella (for canine influenza, or kennel cough) every 6 months, DPP (or similar variation of it), and Rabies of course. These had to be given at least 48 hours before coming in, and we did check with the vet to be sure. Make sure wherever you go, they do keep up with this to prevent your pet from getting sick while there. If they are lax with their policies, it's best to go somewhere else. Oh and when we checked out a pet, we made sure that ONLY the ppl that are on the form, filled out by the owner, can pick up the pet under any circumstance. You can request an ID check everytime, but generally once a person is a regular customer, we get to know who belongs to who, like a daycare for babies.

Has anything one ever seen the Disney movie called Hotel For Dogs?

I'm trying to figure out what kind of dog the little white one named Friday is. Any ideas?

a terrior of some sort....a jack russel perhaps
