whats the best duck hunting dog?
ok so first off NO LAB i hate them. so what i want is a bird dog that will bond super close to me and will be very easy to train. one that will like to hunt them but not be obsessed with it. and maybe like one that can act a little like a guard dog. but mainly just one that will train easy, bond super good, and no labs.

Golden Retriever, Spinone Italiano, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, American Water Spaniel, Irish Water Spaniel, Small Munsterlander, Large Munsterlander, Curly Coated Retriever, Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, German Wirehaired Pointer, German Longhaired Pointer, German Shorthaired Pointer, Flat Coated Retriever, and the Bracco Italiano are all known to be good duck dogs.
A good hunting dog needs very little hunt training-mostly obedience training-the rest comes to the dog pretty naturally. If you buy a versatile breed, your local NAVHDA chapter can help you with training the dog (and trialing, if you wish), if you join the club. They usually hold training sessions monthly, and help you work on the more difficult things like blind water retrieves and tracking.
