Whats the deal here??
I see the gteat state of Tenn has required that everyone be carded to purchase hard stuff and beer. Even those who are in walkers and have all appearences of being in the 70 80 year old range. No card, no beer. Here in Ohio we can't get within 6 feet of a stripper, we can't smoke within 20 feet of a public business, we have to use helmets to ride a Harley, we must use the seat belts and no more walking your dog without a pooper scooper in some areas. Where will all of this protection end???
not until the revolution. I would rather live in this country than any other but I do not need protection from myself. Making laws about seat belts etc. protects the stupid and the weak, negating the evolutionary process. I realize that this is not a politically correct attitude (i expect the thought police daily, lol). I would legalize all drugs also, put them in liquor stores and tax the begeezus out of them. It would cut crime, destroy the "mystique" and they would not be any more accessible than they are now. You cannot protect people from themselves no matter how many laws you make. Many of the laws to "protect" us are made at the behest of powerful (and rich) insurance lobbies. Many others are made to "save the children" (the parents responsibility--sorry folks but that is true). In the past few years there has been a huge upswing in the sort of law that is intended to enforce mannerly behavior (ie smoking regulations and pooper scooper laws) which should be enforceable merely by common consent (say some thing to the jerk!--yeah, yeah "he may shoot" you--I bet you can tell which ones will and which ones won't).
