hypoallergenic dog?

I would like to buy (or rescue a from a shelter) a dog for my grandmother and her retired husband. He has had 2 dogs before, and take wonderful care of them, but he is never able to keep them for long because he's highly allergic. He had one mutt that he had for several years until they moved to an apartment that didn't allow dogs, and then a chihuahua that he ended up giving away because it made him very sick. What kind of dog would be good for him? A small dog that is easy to train would be best, but the most important factor is that he is able to keep the dog without getting ill.

btw, i don't plan on surprising them with a dog, I'll make sure they really want one and are ready to take care of it before I even go to look for one.
I forgot to mention that the dog they had before was a mystery mix from a shelter :) The vet didn't even know what she was. She looked kind of like a miniature golden retreiver, only black? I know that's a vague description, but this was years ago.

What dog bread should i get?

i want to get a puppy that i can train for agility and best of show contests. I need a bread that is easy to train and has enough energy to do these contests, but he also will be our house pet so he needs to be good with other pets andgood with young children. it cant be a bread that is made to protect a house because i dont want him to be agresive. i live in florida so he needs to be able to adapt to warm weather. i would also like it if the dog would like water and swimming, just as a bonas, i can do without it if i need to. thats all i can think of. can you think of a bread for me?
sorry. i ment Breed. please ignore the words Bread

Staffie or AmStaff (unless you live in Miami Dade County, they are illegal), border collies, Australian shepherds, labs, are all great and easily trained.

Try the animal shelter. There are a lot of dogs that people get that are really smart and active that get dumped in shelters. These dogs get dumped off because they are not challenged, or excersized properly and end up becoming frustrated and bored, which leads them to be destructive. These dogs end up being great agility dogs, and very easy to train, because they love the challenge of learning new things and running around.
