i am after gun dog training in lancashire?

i have a 12 week old springer spanial and i want to train her to the gun but i need sound advice on the basics

Either get in touch with a local shoot and they will tell you where they meet out of season to train their dogs.
The main this is that when she does an action you want to use in the field you praise her as you would with any training.
the kenel club also do field trials, held at Chatsworth House for the last 2 years, so look on their website for contacts.

What kind of dog should we get?

Right now, we are looking at the Australian Terrier, Norwich Terrier, Japanese Shiba Inu, Finnish Lapphund, Norwegian Buhund, and Lancashire Heeler. This will be our first dog.

We are a family of four. My sister is 10 and I am 16. We are looking for a dog that is smart, easy to train, doesn't shed too much, not high maintenance, loving, and perhaps a good watch dog that doesn't yap too much. If you have any information on the above dog breeds or any other additonal information on what type of dog would be good for us, please answer. All help is appreciated. Thanks!

I live on a farm and have had numerous dogs. I do believe my favorites have been my Austrailian Shepards. They are everything you listed above, especially very smart and lovable! I know have 3 of them and would not trade them for anything! They dont get too big. Mine are the size of a small lab or so. If you want something smaller, they also come in Mini's and toy's. Happy hunting!
