Innotek SD-70 Lap Dog Remote Shock Training Dog Collar Instruction Manual?

My friend received one of these and doesn't have the instructions, he wanted me to try to find them but no luck searching the internet, only found where I can buy them...anyone have them or know where I can get them?
There was no package. It's been used. As for the opinions on the collar, I'm sorry but that's not what I was looking for. I'm not advocating for the use of the collar, I'm just doing what I was asked and looking for the instructions.

Here you go:

No offense, but that took all of like, 10 seconds to find ;-)

Also, tell your friend to test the levels on his hand- these aren't the most reputable products and sometimes have problems with inconsistency.

Dog Training Collar

Dog/Cat training collar question?

I know there are training collars for dogs to stop them from barking. Some are the more cruel shock collars, others use sound and etc that you either control manually or that respond automatically to dog barking. What I was wondering, is there something of that sort to train a cat? My relatives have a very noisy cat that keeps everyone awake at night so I was wondering if there is any way to keep that cat quiet at night.

Hi there...unfortunately, there isn't such a product available for cats. Cats respond better to positive reinforcement training (as most animals do) so negative reinforcement most likely this only would create more problems.

One of the ways I've helped clients to get their cats to sleep during the night is some retraining techniques I hope can work for your relatives.

There are many possibilities as to why cats are keeping your relatives up during the night. For example many cats who are fed at a scheduled time will learn when to expect their meals, the family members come home and leave for day, etc. It's more of a conditioned response from a pattern which is being continually reinforced...and is why I'm making this assumption.

If your relatives would like to change/adjust the cat's schedule to theirs consider by playing with the cat using physical active activities (e.g. laser light) such as interactive play for 10-15 minutes prior to bedtime to exhaust him so the cat will sleep through most of the night. If their cat cat isn't free fed (food available at all times) some people who feed their cats on schedule (once in the morning and once at night) have found that by feeding right just right before bedtime also note that this has a sedating effect because their tummy's are full.

This particular method isn't known to many as most people are not willing to consider it, however one the things we as animal trainers/behaviourists do to break bad behaviours with animals is to ignore the undesired behaviour. What follows is called an extinction burst where the behaviour becomes progressively worst for awhile hoping for the same positive reinforcement as received in past. Eventually the animal learns this behaviour does not gains them any positive reinforcement and eventually fades away.

Here's another example of how an extinction burst works: This happens when a proven method of doing something that brings a desired response (i.e. stealing socks always elicits a chase from a human), all of a sudden stops working. The extinction burst is the part where the dog tries the proven method again and again, and hundred times stronger before they figure out that it just doesn't work anymore. Human equivalent: you're at the elevator. You pressed the button 10 seconds ago. This has always made the elevator come and pick you up. For some reason, there's no sign that the elevator's coming. You press it again. And again, and again and again, harder and harder, with more force (extinction burst!), until finally you just give up and use the stairs. If the original method doesn't work anymore, why use it?!
