I went to start a dog boarding?

I want to have a kennel were i look after dogs while the owners are away. I want to kennel BOTH dogs and cats.

If i was the only one running it, how many animals can i look after at one time?
How much could i charge?
And how much money would i earn a year.

Also, do i provide the food, or do they bring their own dog food?
I live in Ohio, and how much would i need to get started?

It's not unlike starting a hotel - you need a commercial permit, business and liability insurance, and wherever you're doing it needs to be zoned as commercial property.

If you are a kid and want to start a business taking care of animals, I would strongly suggest you start out by petsitting during visits at their own homes. It's far easier, much safer for the dogs and for you, and you don't need a million dollars and the blessing of the whole town to get started.

What is a cheaper dog boarding kennel in Perth?

I am having to travel to New Zealand for 17 days in January. We were looking at having someone house sit but that fell through. From what I have seen most boarding kennels are quite pricey, $17 to $18 a day.

Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative?

I live in Margaret River and they are $20-25 per day here.

Pampered Pooches in perth is $20 per day and that is 5 star luxury.

Would you really want cheaper accommodation for your dog? Would that include a walk each day?

You may need to phone your vet or look in your local phone book, they may know of one, but I couldnt imagine them being any cheaper that that.

Maybe you could advertise for someone to look after your dog in THEIR home. You could probably pay them around $10 per day and at least your dog will have a yard and more company.

Heck, I'd do it if I were in Perth, Lol!
