Dog And Cat Sitting
Does your dog or cat give you a special greeting each morning?
My dog starts jumping around when I get out of bed and my cat literaly salutes me by doing a whole "reverence" like she stretches out her body and roll her head out for me to tickle her chin. Then my dog starts chasing her to get all the attention so she jumps on the kitchen table as I prepape my coffee. So my dog sits at my feet and doesn't let me move anymore! I love them a lot, but more and more it amazes me how parents can have 4 kids and still manage time for all?
My kiten and I have a ritual we call rubbing when I get home from work. I get on the ground and he walks around me rubbing up aginst me and purring for about 5 minutes. I rub his head and his tummy then I feed him dinner. We have been doing this since I got him from the shelter 5 months ago
Dog And Cat Sitting
Male Adult Cat having dog visitor for the weekend, how can I make this easier?
This weekend we're going to be dog sitting again at our house. We have done it in the past and I really love my cat and hate seeing him stressed and hate seeing him hissing at the dog constantly... In the past we'd put the cat in our spare room, turns out he didn't like that too much. He ended up getting very stressed out over the situation of being stuck in a room by himself even if we visited him regularly. So stressed he had a urinary obstruction and almost died... He is on perscription foods now for life, i'm hoping that will prevent it from happening again - but I don't want it to happen again because we put him in a spare room for 1 day. We've tried to introduce them to eachother, but it never goes well.. What can I do to make both animals happy and in a relaxed enviroment? Thank you!!
I have both cats and dogs, all living happily as a family. Unfortunately, this makes my cats unafraid of dogs. I too look after a friends dog who insists on chasing my cats. I have solved this problem by installing a baby gate in the hallway. The cats have access to most of the house, their private entrance, and they can see the dog. The dog can not get past the hallway point. It works for me for the few days they are together.
