Cat Sitters
leaving something for the cat sitter?
We're going away for a few days for the holidays and have asked the upstairs neighbors to look after our cat. This would require coming once a day and changing her water and giving her fresh food. We don't know them that well, only just met them a few months ago and I'd like to thank them with something. Do you think money or cookies and/or other holiday goodies are appropriate? I've already said I would make some food for various parties so it wouldn't take much effort to do some more.... and if you think money, then how much per day? (they are grown and married, and have cats of their own if that changes anything...)
they won't have to change her litter box at all...
A thank you card and a tin of homemade Christmas cookies would be just fine.

your vet will have the names of local people to you. they probably won't 'recommend' anyone, but will give you the names.
also, the staff of the vet often will pet sit. you could ask if anyone there does it before asking for recommendations.
I volunteer for a local shelter, and their staff is highly under paid. I used someone I met through there last time I needed someone to take care of my crew. if nothing else, the staff of a shelter will have pets, and probably will make a recommendation for you
good luck
