we are leaving for 10 days during the thanksgiving holidays and thinking of getting a cat sitter to live at our new york apartment during these 10 days and take a good care of our cat and make sure he's safe. does anybody know where to find such service and how much it would cost ruffly? thank you

Costs vary depending on what services you want. Coming in once a day, putting out food and emptying the litter box will be less expensive than twice a day and wanting the pet sitter to play with your cat.

If you go with a professional pet sitting service, insist that they be bonded.

how much do dog walkers/cat sitters make and how long is the average walk? I was thinking of $25 a walk .?

I'm trying to start my own dog walking/sitting service and i need advice on the details of what other dog walkers charge and services they offer their clients? I'm also planning on doing cat sitting for people when they go on vacation

I had my own pet sitting business and I usually charged $15.00 per visit. This included a 20-25 minute walk, feeding, watering. Sometimes I would charge a little more if a 2nd pet was added on or I took the dog to the dog park for an hour or so. If I had to medicate, or do extensive watering I would charge a couple dollars more. I also did overnights and would charge $50-55 per night. It depends where you live, here in California people are willing to spend a lot on their pets. You should check with other sitters in your area and see what they charge and charge similarly.
